The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WOE UNTO THOSE who give short measure: 1 Who insist on being given full when they take from others, 2 but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 for a great Day, 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? 8 A written record. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 Those who belie the Day of Requital. 11 None belies it except every guilty sinner. 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' 17 However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 The record is a sealed text. 20 witnessed by all who have [ever] been drawn close unto God. 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 On thrones, watching. 23 and in their faces you shall know the radiance of bliss. 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: 26 And mixed with water of Tasnim, 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 The wicked used to laugh at the believers -- 29 And when the believers used to pass by, they used to gesture at each other with their eyes. 30 When they returned to their people they returned jesting; 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 Will not the disbelievers then be duly recompensed for their laughing at the believers? 36
