Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
HA MIM. 1 By the Clear Book, 2 behold, We have made it an Arabic Koran; haply you will understand; 3 And Lo! in the Source of Decrees, which We possess, it is indeed sublime, decisive. 4 Can We ignore sending you the Quran just because you are a transgressing people? 5 We have sent many a prophet to earlier peoples 6 And never came there a prophet to them but they mocked him. 7 so We destroyed men stronger in valour than they, and the example of the ancients passed away. 8 (Muhammad), if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will certainly say, "The Majestic and All-knowing God has created them". 9 Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and placed roads for you therein, that haply ye may find your way; 10 And Who sendeth down water from the sky in (due) measure, and We revive a dead land therewith. Even so will ye be brought forth; 11 And, (it is He) who has created all the pairs and appointed for you ships and the cattle on which you ride, 12 In order that you may mount firmly on their backs, and then may remember the Favour of your Lord when you mount thereon, and say: "Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts)." 13 And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return." 14 But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful. 15
