Nay, by the moon, 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 it is a warning to man, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 except those of the right hand 39 in Gardens they will question 40 About the guilty: 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
