Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when souls are united, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 Every soul will then come to know what it has brought. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
