He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him? 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 So you are after him! 6 And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself 7 But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose 8 And he feareth 9 You neglect. 10 These verses are a reminder 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 lofty and pure, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 Honourable and Virtuous. 16 May man be slain how ungrateful he is! 17 From what has God created him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 How We pour water in showers 25 Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, 26 And We made corn grow, 27 and vines, and reeds, 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 And dense gardens, 30 And fruits and herbage 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when there comes the Deafening Blast 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 wife and sons, 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
