The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
