Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! 1 What will his wealth avail him, and all that he has gained? 2 Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame! 3 together with his wife, that carrier of evil tales, 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
