Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
