The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 And the second followeth it, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
