The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
