The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
