The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount 1 And [by] a Book inscribed 2 On an open record. 3 by the House inhabited 4 And the lofty roof. 5 and by the swelling sea: 6 the punishment of your Lord shall certainly come to pass, 7 There is none that can avert it; 8 (It shall come to pass) on the Day when the heaven will convulse in a great convulsion, 9 and the mountains are in motion, 10 Woe will be to those who rejected the Truth 11 those who are in plunging, playing. 12 On that Day when they shall be pitched into the Fire of Gehenna (Hell), 13 This is the Fire which ye were wont to believe. 14 Is this magic? or ye still see not clearly! 15 "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." 16 Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and Delight. 17 rejoicing in all their Lord has given them, and their Lord will guard them against the punishment of Hell. 18 "Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for your good deeds," 19 Reclining on ranged couches. And we wed them unto fair ones with wide, lovely eyes. 20 The offspring of the believers will also follow them to Paradise. So shall We join their offspring to them because of their faith. We shall reduce nothing from their deeds. Everyone will be responsible for his own actions. 21 And We aided them with fruit and meat, whatever they desire. 22 while they pass therein a cup one to another wherein is no idle talk, no cause of sin, 23 ۞ And there will go round boy-servants of theirs, to serve them as if they were preserved pearls. 24 And some of them draw near unto others, questioning, 25 Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home. 26 Wherefore Allah hath obliged us, and hath protected us from the torment of the Scorch. 27 Surely we called upon Him before: Surely He is the Benign, the Merciful. 28
