The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Taught the Quran. 2 has created man, 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
