The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the books are spread, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
