'Aad denied the messengers 123 Behold, their brother Hud said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 124 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 125 "So fear Allah and obey me. 126 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists). 127 Build ye on every eminence a landmark in vanity? 128 And do you take to yourselves underground reservoirs, in order to live for ever! 129 "And when ye exert your strong hand, do ye do it like men of absolute power? 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 And fear Him Who hath aided you with that which ye know. 132 Provided you with grazing livestock and children 133 and with gardens and springs. 134 for, verily, I fear lest suffering befall you on an awesome day!" 135 They said: It is all one to us whether thou preachest or art not of those who preach; 136 This is just a habit of antiquated people. 137 and we are not going to be chastised [for adhering to it]!" 138 So they belied him, and We destroyed them. Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and merciful. 140
