And when thy Lord called to Moses, 'Go to the people of the evildoers, 10 the people of Pharaoh: do they have no fear?" 11 He said, 'My Lord, I fear they will cry me lies, 12 I feel nervous and my tongue is not fluent, so send Aaron with me. 13 And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me." 14 He said: 'Never so, go both of you with Our signs; We shall be with you, listening 15 Go, then, to Pharaoh and say to him: 'The Lord of the Universe has sent us 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 He said, 'Did we not raise thee amongst us as a child? Didst thou not tarry among us years of thy life? 18 And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!' 19 He (Moses) replied: 'Indeed, I did that when I was among those who stray. 20 "So I fled from you when I feared you. But my Lord has granted me Hukman (i.e. religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood), and appointed me as one of the Messengers. 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 The Pharaoh asked: "And what is the Lord of all the worlds?" 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, if you can believe." 24 Pharaoh said to those around him, "Did you hear?" 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 (The Pharaoh) said (to his nobles): "Your apostle who has been sent to you, is certainly mad." 27 Moses continued, "He is the Lord of the East and West and all that is between them, if only you would think". 28 [Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned." 29 Musa (Moses) said: "Even if I bring you something manifest (and convincing)?" 30 (The Pharaoh) said: "Then bring it, if you speak the truth." 31 So he cast down his rod, and lo! it was an obvious serpent, 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it looked white to the beholders. 33
