Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
