Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
