Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 for an appointed time? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
