The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
