And undoubtedly Haroon had told them before it that, “O my people – you have needlessly fallen into trial because of this; and indeed your Lord is the Most Gracious, therefore follow me and obey my command.” 90 They replied: 'We will not stop; we will cling to it until Moses returns to us.' 91 Said Moosa, “O Haroon – what prevented you when you saw them going astray?” 92 "From following me? Didst thou then disobey my order?" 93 Aaron said, "Son of my mother! Do not seize me by my beard nor by my head. I was afraid that you would say, 'You have caused dissension among the Children of Israel and did not pay heed to my words.'" 94 He said: What was then your object, O Samiri? 95 He answered: "I saw what the people did not see. So I took a handful of dust from the trail of the Messenger, and I flung it (into the fire). Thus did my mind prompt me." 96 Musa (Moses) said: "Then go away! And verily, your (punishment) in this life will be that you will say: "Touch me not (i.e. you will live alone exiled away from mankind); and verily (for a future torment), you have a promise that will not fail. And look at your ilah (god), to which you have been devoted. We will certainly burn it, and scatter its particles in the sea." 97 Your god is only God. There is no other god but He. His knowledge extends over everything." 98 And so We narrate to you the stories of the past, and We have given you a remembrance from Us. 99 Whoever turns away from it, will bear a burden on the Day of Resurrection. 100 they will abide in this [state,] and grievous for them will be the weight [of that burden] on the Day of Resurrection 101 The day the trumpet blast is sounded We shall raise the sinners blind, 102 They shall whisper among themselves: "You stayed on the earth barely ten days." 103 We know best what they will say, when their leader most eminent in conduct will say: "Ye tarried not longer than a day!" 104
