Therefore, remind. By the Favor of Allah, you are neither a soothsayer, nor mad. 29 Or do they say: A poet, we wait for him the evil accidents of time. 30 Say: 'Await! I shall be awaiting with you.' 31 Nay! do their understandings bid them this? Or are they an inordinate people? 32 Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe. 33 So let them bring a single discourse like it, if they are truthful. 34 Or were they created out of naught? Or are they the creators? 35 [And] have they created the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no certainty of anything! 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord, or have they been given charge of them? 37 Do they have a ladder (by which they can climb up to the heavens) and listen (to the angels) and come back to the rest of the people with clear authority? 38 Or has He only daughters and ye have sons? 39 Or is it that you ask of them any recompense so that they should fear to be weighed down under the burden of debt? 40 Or that the Unseen in it their hands, and they write it down? 41 Or do they want to stage a deception? -- Then only those who do not believe will be the ones who will be tricked. 42 Or do they have a god apart from God? He is too exalted for what they associate with Him! 43 Even if they saw lumps falling from the sky they would say: 'A massed cloud' 44 So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible - 45 The day on which their struggle shall not avail them aught, nor shall they be helped. 46 Truly, for those who do wrong there is a punishment besides that, though most of them do not know it. 47 And wait patiently for the judgment of your Lord, for surely you are before Our eyes, and sing the praise of your Lord when you rise; 48 And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars. 49
