Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
