Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. 4 So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 And the angels will be on its sides; and on that day, eight angels will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In high empyrean 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
