The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
