O you apostles, eat things that are clean, and do things that are good. We are surely cognisant of what you do. 51 This community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so hold Me alone in fear. 52 But the people divided their religion among them into sects - each faction, in what it has, rejoicing. 53 But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time. 54 Do they think that We are helping them by giving them children and property? 55 We would hasten them on in every good? Nay, they do not understand. 56 Those who tremble in fear of their Lord, 57 and believe in His messages 58 Those who join not (in worship) partners with their Lord; 59 who give, whatever they give in charity, with their hearts trembling at the thought that they are destined to return to their Lord; 60 Are the ones who hasten to goodness and outpace the others. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a record which clearly shows the truth and they will not be wronged. 62 On the contrary, their hearts are in neglect of this and their works are different than those of the believers, the works that they are doing. 63 Till, when We seize with the chastisement the ones of them that live at ease, behold, they groan. 64 Cry not for succor this day; surely you shall not be given help from Us. 65 My revelations were recited unto you, but ye used to turn back on your heels, 66 [and,] impelled by your arrogance, you would talk senselessly far into the night." 67 Then have they not reflected over the Qur'an, or has there come to them that which had not come to their forefathers? 68 Or know they not their messenger, and so reject him? 69 Do they say he is possessed? Rather he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse to the truth. 70 Had the truth followed their desires, the heavens and the earth and all that is in them would have been destroyed. We sent them the Quran but they ignored it. 71 Or dost thou ask of them (O Muhammad) any tribute? But the bounty of thy Lord is better, for He is Best of all who make provision. 72 and, most surely, you are calling them to a straight path. 73 And indeed those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviated from the Straight Path. 74 ۞ And if We show mercy to them and remove the distress they have, they would persist in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on. 75 (They are such) that We seized them with chastisement (and yet) they did not humble themselves before their Lord, nor do they entreat 76 until We open before them a gate of harsh punishment and then they will be dumbfounded. 77
