۞ Recite to them the parable of two men! One of them We provided with two vineyards which We surrounded with date-palms, and placed a field of grain in between; 32 Each of those two gardens brought forth its produce, and failed not in the least therein, and We caused a river to gush forth in the midst of them. 33 So he became rich. Arguing one day with his friend he said: "I have more wealth than you and more powerful kinsmen." 34 He unjustly entered his garden and said, "I do not think this (property) will ever perish 35 “I do not think that the Last Day will ever be established – and even if I return to my Lord I will surely find a haven better than this garden.” 36 And his friend answered him in the course of their argument: "Wilt thou blaspheme against Him who has created thee out of dust, and then out of a drop of sperm, and in the end has fashioned thee into a [complete] man? 37 But as for me, He, Allah, is my Lord, and I do not associate anyone with my Lord. 38 Why, when thou wentest into thy garden, didst thou not say, "As God will; there is no power except in God"? If thou seest me, that I am less than thou in wealth and children, 39 It may be that my Lord will give me [something] better than your garden and will send upon it a calamity from the sky, and it will become a smooth, dusty ground, 40 or, in the morning its water will be drained into the earth so that you will not have a means to reach it' 41 And his fruits were surrounded – he therefore remained helplessly wringing his hands upon all that he had spent on it – and it lay fallen on its canopy – and he says, “If only I had not ascribed any partner to my Lord!” 42 But there was no host to help him, apart from God, and he was helpless. 43 Here is protection only Allah's, the True One; He is best in (the giving of) reward and best in requiting. 44
