The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
