The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
