Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
