And certainly Haroun had said to them before: O my people! you are only tried by it, and surely your Lord is the Beneficent Allah, therefore follow me and obey my order. 90 They replied: 'We will not stop; we will cling to it until Moses returns to us.' 91 But (Moses) said: "O Aaron, when you saw that they had gone astray, what hindered you 92 "That you followed me not (according to my advice to you)? Have you then disobeyed my order?" 93 'Son of my mother,' Aaron said, 'take me not by the beard, or the head! I was fearful that thou wouldst say, "Thou hast divided the Children of Israel, and thou hast not observed my word." 94 Moses said, "What was the matter with you, Samiri?" 95 He replied: 'I saw what they did not see and seized a handful of dust from the foot print of the messenger and so I cast it; this my soul prompted me to do' 96 Moses said: "Be gone, then. All your life you shall cry: 'Untouchable.' There awaits a term for your reckoning that you cannot fail to keep. Now look at your god that you devotedly adored: We shall burn it and scatter its remains in the sea. 97 Your Lord is the One who is the only God and He has the knowledge of all things. 98 Thus do We relate to thee some stories of what happened before: for We have sent thee a Message from Our own Presence. 99 All who shall turn away from it will, verily, bear a [heavy] burden on the Day of Resurrection: 100 They will abide in that (state in the Fire of Hell), and evil indeed will it be that load for them on the Day of Resurrection; 101 the Day when the trumpet shall be blown: We shall gather all the sinners on that Day. Their eyes will turn blue with terror 102 In whispers will they speak to each other (saying): "You stayed not longer than ten (days)." 103 We know best what they will say. The most perceptive of them will say, "You stayed only one day." 104
