The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 Who will be honoured 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 a good many of those of olden times, 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 reclining upon them, facing one another [in love]. 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 Other than "Peace, peace" the salutation. 26 As for those of the right hand -- how (happy) those of the right hand -- 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 And shade extended 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 and upraised couches. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 And made them virgins, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 For those on the right. 38
