Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 He abandoned his people 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ So We cast him, sick, on a barren shore, 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 Then We sent him to a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 "God has begotten [a son]"; and verily, they are lying [too, when they say,] 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 “So do you not ponder?” 155 “Or do you have some clear proof?” 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 Can mislead anyone away from Him, 162 Save him Who is to roast in the Flaming Fire. 163 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 and we glorify God". 166 And there were those who said, 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from those [who deny the truth,] 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 So when it does descend in their courtyards so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned! 177 So turn (O Muhammad SAW) away from them for a while, 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
