Said the eminent among the people of Pharaoh, "Indeed, this is a learned magician 109 and said, "He wants to expel you from your land." They asked (others), " what is your opinion in the matter? 110 They said, “Stop him and his brother, and send announcers to the cities to gather people.” 111 Who will bring you every learned magician." 112 And the enchanters came to Firon (and) said: We must surely have a reward if we are the prevailing ones. 113 "Yes," said he, "you will be among the honoured." 114 They said: "O Musa (Moses)! Either you throw (first), or shall we have the (first) throw?" 115 He said: Throw! And when they threw they cast a spell upon the people's eyes, and overawed them, and produced a mighty spell. 116 Then We revealed to Moses: 'Now, throw down your staff' And thereupon it swallowed up their false invention. 117 ۞ Thus truth was confirmed, and all that they did was made of no effect. 118 So the (great ones) were vanquished there and then, and were made to look small. 119 and the magicians flung themselves prostrate, 120 saying: 'We believe in the Lord of the Worlds, 121 "The Lord of Moses and Aaron." 122 The Pharaoh said to the magicians, "You declared your belief in him (Moses) without my permission. This is a plot to throw my people out of their city. But you will soon know. 123 “I swear I will cut off your hands and your feet from alternate sides and then crucify you all.” 124 They said: Surely to our Lord shall we go back: 125 "And you take vengeance on us only because we believed in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.) of our Lord when they reached us! Our Lord! pour out on us patience, and cause us to die as Muslims." 126
