The 'Ad (people) rejected the messengers. 123 Their brother Hud asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 124 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 125 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 126 I do not ask for any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 127 Do you build on every height a monument? Vain is it that you do: 128 "And do you get for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will live therein for ever. 129 When you lay hands upon anyone, you do so as tyrants. 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 Fear Him who has bestowed on you what you know, 132 amply provided you with flocks, and children, 133 and with gardens and springs. 134 Verily I fear for you the torment of a Mighty Day. 135 They replied: 'It is the same to us whether you admonish or whether you are not one of the admonishers. 136 “This is nothing but the tradition of former people.” 137 and we shall not be punished." 138 In response they denied him – We therefore destroyed them; indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 139 Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
