Have you seen the one who turned away 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 and that with thy Sustainer is the beginning and the end [of all that exists]; 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
