The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 and the night as a cover, 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 On that Day when the trumpet shall be sounded, you shall come in droves, 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
