The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the racers, panting, 1 Striking sparks of fire 2 rushing to assault at morn, 3 blazing a trail of dust, 4 And cleaving their way therein into the host, 5 Verily! Man (disbeliever) is ungrateful to his Lord; 6 And verily to that he is witness. 7 And verily in the love of wealth he is vehement, 8 ۞ Knows he not that when that which is in the tombs is over-thrown, 9 And the secrets of the hearts exposed, 10 indeed, on that Day their Lord will be aware of them! 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
