The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the sun and its brilliance, 1 by the moon, which follows it, 2 and by the day when it displays him 3 by the night when it covers the earth with darkness, 4 By the heaven and That which built it 5 And the earth and Him Who extended it, 6 By the soul and Him Who propertioned it, 7 Then He inspired it to understand what is right and wrong for it; 8 Surely blissful is he who hath cleansed it, 9 And he has failed who instills it [with corruption]. 10 The Thamud (people) rejected (their prophet) through their inordinate wrong-doing, 11 when the most corrupt of them incited them (to commit evil). 12 Then the messenger of God said to them, "This is God's she-camel. Let her drink." 13 But they gave him the lie, and hamstrung the she-camel. So their Lord destroyed them for their crime and razed their city to the ground. 14 And for Him is no fear of its consequences. 15
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
