The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 I ask of you no reward for this. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "Give full measure, and cause no loss (to others). 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 And do not withhold from people what belongs to them, and do not corrupt the land; 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 You are nothing but a man like us, and we think you are a liar. 186 So cause a fragment of the sky to fall on us, if you are truthful." 187 He said: My Lord knows best what you do. 188 But they rejected him. Then the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom seized them, and that was the Penalty of a Great Day. 189 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
