Has the story reached thee, of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 and placed it before them. "Will you not eat?" he said, 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ Said [Abraham]: "And what [else] may you have in view, O you [heavenly] messengers?" 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people 32 That we may send upon them stones of clay, 33 Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." 34 Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, 35 And We found not therein more than one house of the Muslims. 36 And therein We left a sign to those who fear the painful chastisement. 37 And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant, 38 but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' 39 So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 which spared nothing of what it came upon, but caused [all of] it to become like bones dead and decayed. 42 And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 So they were neither able to stand up, nor were they able to take revenge. 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46
