Therefor warn (men, O Muhammad). By the grace of Allah thou art neither soothsayer nor madman. 29 Or do they say, 'He is a poet for whom we await Fate's uncertainty'? 30 Say: Wait, for surely I too with you am of those who wait. 31 Do their minds command them to do this, or are they an outrageous folk? 32 Do they say, "He has falsely invented it (the Quran)?" In fact, they themselves have no faith. 33 Then let them bring an announcement like it if they are truthful. 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 Or have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact they are certain of nothing. 36 Or do they own the treasures of thy Lord? Or have they been given charge (thereof)? 37 Or have they a ladder by which they could [ascend to ultimate truths and] listen [to what is beyond the reach of human perception]? Let, then, any of them who have listened [to it] produce a manifest proof [of his knowledge]! 38 Does God have daughters while you have sons? 39 Do you (Muhammad) ask them for any payment (for your preaching) which they cannot afford? 40 Or possess they the Unseen so that they can write (it) down? 41 Or desire they to outwit? The unbelievers, they are the outwitted. 42 Have they, then, any deity other than God? Utterly remote is God, in His limitless glory, from anything to which men may ascribe a share in His divinity! 43 And if they were to see a fragment of the heaven falling, they would say: A heap of clouds. 44 So, leave them until they face their day (of doom) when they will be stunned. 45 the day when their guile shall avail them naught, and they shall not be helped. 46 But, verily, for those who are bent on doing evil, there is suffering in store [even] closer at hand than that [supreme suffering in the hereafter]: but most of them are not aware of it. 47 And be thou patient under the judgment of thy Lord; surely thou art before Our eyes. And proclaim the praise of thy Lord when thou arisest, 48 and also celebrate His praise at night, and at the retreat of the stars. 49
