The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 175
