The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 BUT NAY! I call to witness the sunset's [fleeting] afterglow, 16 and the night, and what it [step by step] unfolds, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
