We gave Moses the Book, and appointed with him his brother Aaron as minister 35 Then We said: go ye twain unto a people who have belied Our signs. Then We annihilated them an utter annihilation. 36 We drowned the people of Noah also when they rejected their messengers and We made them an example to all mankind. We have prepared a painful punishment for the wrongdoers, 37 And the tribes of A’ad and the Thamud, and the people of the Wells, and many a generation between them. 38 and unto each of them did We proffer lessons and each of them did We destroy with utter destruction. 39 And they have already come upon the town which was showered with a rain of evil. So have they not seen it? But they are not expecting resurrection. 40 When they see you they take you only in jest: "Is this the one whom God has sent as messenger? 41 He would have mislead us from our gods, if we had not been steadfast to them' But they shall know who is further astray from the Path when they see the punishment. 42 Have you seen him who takes his low desires for his god? Will you then be a protector over him? 43 Do you think most of them can hear or understand? They are like cattle. Indeed, they are even more astray. 44
