Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
