Samood rejected the warning. 23 They said: 'Are we to follow a mortal who is one of us? Then indeed, we would surely be in error and insane. 24 Has the message been sent down upon him from among us? Rather, he is an insolent liar." 25 "Tomorrow they will know who is the impudent liar! 26 for We are [going to] send the she-camel as a trial for them, so watch them and be patient. 27 Tell them that each one of them has the right to have a certain share of water". 28 But they called their companion, and he dared and hamstrung [her]. 29 and how severe was the suffering which I inflicted when My warnings were disregarded! 30 Verily We, We sent upon them one shout, and they became as the stubble of a fold-builder. 31 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 32 The people of Lot rejected the warnings. 33 Indeed We sent a shower of stones upon them, except the family of Lut; We rescued them before dawn. 34 Thus do We recompense the grateful ones. 35 He had warned them of Our assault, but they disputed the warnings. 36 And certainly they endeavored to turn him from his guests, but We blinded their eyes; so taste My chastisement and My warning. 37 And indeed, the everlasting punishment overcame them early in the morning. 38 'Taste now My chastisement and My warnings!' 39 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished. 40
