Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale 6 Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 in a lofty Garden 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure – the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
