Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 Warn the men. 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 about the guilty ones: 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
