By no means! By the moon, 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 a warning to humans, 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 Of evil-doers: 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
